04/01/10 - Sorry there's no article for this week.  I've been super busy getting ready for tomorrow nights opening at Rogue Buddha Gallery.  Hope you can make it out.  For more details click on the image below.  Cheers!

03/22/10 - The new article, A Date with Destiny, is now online, yey!

03/10/10 - I just posted the new article for this week.   I'm also changing the format a bit as to when I post new articles.  My original intent was to post every Monday, but as the artist in me is shining through and I've been late on publishing the past few weeks, I'll just say a new article will be published each week on no particular day.  Most likely it will be Wed or Thursday, but we'll see.

Later in the week I'll also start putting up a few of my more recent sketches so keep an eye out for those.

03/02/10 - This weeks  guest article comes directly from the computer of Ryan Spring Dooley, from somewhere in Europe.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy his stop gap animations.  Cheers!

02/23/10 - Just published the new article, YEY!  Also wanted to mention that I haven't been updating this site much over the past week or so because I'm working on some changes to the site to make it more user friendly for myself and you.  I'm thrilled to say that I have a great web designer, Gregory Meyers, who is working to make these changes possible.  Thanks Gregory!  So keep checking back as we'll relaunch this site in the next couple of weeks.  Until then, I'll be updating this page more regularly.  Cheers!

02/15/10 - I'll be publishing the new article for the week either Wed or Thursday.  Also wanted to thank Kate, L'etoile and all of the other volunteers who put on a great valentines event last night, much love!!!

02/08/10 - Just published this weeks article, Love at First Sight.  I also wanted to thank everyone who attended the opening last Friday and all of the volunteers!  It was a great time!  Hope to see everyone this Sunday for the Paper Hearts V Day event.

02/05/10 - Just taking a break from mopping the floors and scrubbin' the toilet in preparation for tonight's opening, ahh, the glamorous life :-).  Below is a cool vid courtesy of Julie at her blog Anana a Miami.  I also posted another movie from her blog on my movie page.  Cheers and see ya tonight!

02/02/10 - Feelin' winter but thinkin' spring...  Here's a short slideshow of some photos I took in my moms yard last year.  I spend quite a bit of time working in her yard each summer.  It's a good inspiration for my paintings.
May take a minute to load all of the images

02/01/10 - I am constantly amazed by the talent, insight and passion that my friends posess.  This weeks article is a guest article by a friend of mine (Deena Ebbert) whose love of art shines brighter than almost anyone I know.  It is people like Deena that drive me to make art and to always improve at the craft.  Thanks Deena for the great article and for your continued appreciation and support of all things artistic! www.propellergirl.com

02/01/10 - EVENT OF THE WEEK...
This is the next exhibit at Rogue Buddha Gallery, our first since last October.  Also, please join us on Valentines Day for the "Paper Hearts" party hosted by L'Etoile.

  This exhibit is sponsored by

01/28/10 - Howard Zinn was probably one of the most influential writers in my early years out of school (As his book "A Peoples History of the United States" isn't taught in K-12 grades - a damned shame). The biggest realization for me was that ALL wars are manufactured by the very few at the expense of the very many. Rest in Peace and much love Howard...

  01/24/10 - Yuri Arajs Tribute :-)

01/24/10 - Hi all! Just wanted to remind people to check out the new article tomorrow entitled “Creative Crisis”.  This article is intended for artists and non-artists alike.  Also, I will be posting an addendum to this article (which will be geared more towards those who are pursuing a professional art career) later in the week so keep an eye out for that. I also wanted to give a shout out to Megan for her help with editing my articles.  She's really the one that adds the spice to the main dish and gives it its flavor so to speak.  So thanks Meg for making me sound eloquent :-)

01/24/10 - Song of the Day - Everyday Sunshine by Fishbone.  It's been pretty grey out for the past week or so and thought we all could use a bit of pep to get us through.  Here's to appreciating the grey but looking forward to spring :-)

01/22/10 - I've added two new sites to my PEOPLE PLACES THINGS list.  Please take the time to check both out (Digital Crush and Minnesota Playlist).

Anyone who knows me knows my less than normal obsession with Prince, OK it's not an obsession, maybe just infatuation, puppy love really.  Anyways, I received a number of emails today about Prince's new Vikings song.  First let me say, UHHHHGGG, hideous on every possible level.  But then I read the lyrics and some things about the lyrics were strikingly obvious.  I don't want to say too much now as I'll be publishing an article on a topic that will include not just Prince but a number of bands and movies that I have really dug over the years.  What I will say for now is that it seems to me that this Vikings song really has nothing to do with the Vikings...  More about that sometime in the future article.

On a side note, I'm not publishing an event of the week this week as I'm spending much time with my mother in the hospital who just had her hip replaced.  I'll be back to promoting an event of the week on Monday.  I encourage people to send me their suggestions or Press Releases as it's important to support local artists, bands and performers of all types.

Cheers!

01/15/10 - Song of the Day - Inter Course by Prince.  So anyone who knows me knew I had to play a Prince song at some point.  Hopefully this is one most people don't know or at least have never seen live, I dig it.  Call me a romantic :)

01/12/10 - Thanks to everyone who has joined The Gut of Art fan page on Facebook, really appreciate it.  Also thanks for the comments on the new page and the first article.  I attempted to do the Vlog last night and have come to the determination that Vlogging just isn't for me so I'm halting the monday night thing at least for now.  I will be utilizing Justin TV in the future though for another project on the RBG website.

01/10/10 - Just doing some final touches before launching this site including adding a couple films I really dig on the Video page.  Make sure to check out Ryan's website which is linked, very cool stuff!  I met Ryan this summer outside the buddha.  We ended up hanging out most of the afternoon.  Look for an exhibit of his art and film at the RBG in the near future.

01/09/10 - Both heaters in the buddha are down.  It's a brisk 42 degrees in the office and my fingers are slowly freezing and becoming less mobile, god love MN :)

01/05/10 - Still working out the kinks on this site, uhhhg.  I thought the design was simple enough that I could build it relatively quickly.  Reality check: I'm no web designer.  Alas, it will be done and fully active soon, hopefully by the weekend so Monday I can post my first article entitled "Let the Good Times Roll."
